At EyeCity Africa, creativity isn’t just an expression; it’s a force for change. Our Creative Innovation Practice (CIP) exists to spark that change by empowering the next generation of African creatives. Rooted in the belief that Africa’s creative economy holds untapped potential, CIP connects young African creatives to the tools, resources, and community they need to thrive.
From fashion designers in Johannesburg to digital artists in Accra, we are building a continent-wide ecosystem where creative ideas meet opportunity. Ultimately, we seek to drive innovation, fuel economic growth, and elevate African talent to the global stage.
Our Approach
EyeCity Africa’s Creative Innovation Practice delivers impact across the continent’s creative economy through five strategic pillars:
Community Building
Industry-relevant training, practical learning, and tailored support are provided to equip creatives with the skills and tools required to lead and innovate within the creative sector.
Research
Comprehensive ecosystem research and knowledge products, including newsletters and articles, offer insights into trends, challenges, and opportunities, supporting data-driven decision-making and sector growth.
Business Development
Business support services including access to funding, expert mentorship, legal advisory, and strategic guidance. Over $90,000 in direct funding has been facilitated through flagship programs such as the Fashionomics Africa Incubator.
Program Implementation
Structured initiatives like incubators, accelerators, and innovation challenges, are designed and delivered to build capacity, strengthen businesses, and drive measurable outcomes across the creative value chain.
Ecosystem Building
Through the Creative Innovators Network (CIN), a collaborative ecosystem connects creatives across Africa, enabling mentorship, networking, knowledge-sharing, and cross-sector partnerships that fuel a resilient and inclusive creative economy.
